As I ran inside to pay I quickly called my brother *just in case*. “Bro, just want to let you know I’m picking up a hitchhiker – he has a story that’s not too convincing, so if I don’t call or text within half an hour, call the cops. Don’t hesitate…I’ll probably be near Central and Broadway if anything happens, alright?”
